Site Redesign
Jul

So, I've done it again. I've redesigned my site.... AGAIN. The last redesign was only 5 months ago, but I must admit that design was just a stepping stone to this one. If you recall, I wanted something less busy, as I thought the previous design was starting to get a bit too crazy, and I was adding stuff to it just for the sake of adding stuff to it. With the last design, I got rid of all the unnecessary garbage, and I must admit, I really liked it. I've continued with that idea in this new design, but I've added a bit more. The "more" in this case, however, was not added for the sake of adding. I really thought it through, and only added "more" cause I thought "more" was necessary.
Its Bigger
Yes, in actuality, it is. My previous designs always took into consideration an 800 x 600 resolution, limiting the width of the content to only 800 pixels. I decided to put an end to that nonsense when I looked at my Google Analytics numbers showing me that in the past month a total of 15 visitors with an 800 x 600 resolution had visited my site for an average of 5 seconds. Armed with that information, I began designing for a resolution of 1024 x 768. This gave me much more freedom in my decisions. I was able to increase the width of each entry for better reading, and increase the sidebar, which decreases the amount of ugliness when links wrap into the next line. This really wasn't really a deal breaker, just a nice to have.
Its Better
This is merely my opinion. But I honestly do like this design better. I finally decided it was time to be serious about this one, so I recreated my entire site on my local machine. From here I was able to make all my edits and file changes and carefully study them before releasing to the public. Once I decided on the design, I completed all the coding, and tested the changes in most browsers. I noticed a few ugly things in IE6, but quite honestly, I really don't care. I hate the crap we as web developers have to go through for IE6, so if the issue wasn't too annoying, I ignored it. I'm sure I'll fix these little annoyances in time, but for now, I say "Oh well. It's only IE." That said, I recommend checking this site out in Firefox. It also looks pretty good in Safari (for Windows) as well.
Leave The Pieces
There are a few spots that I feel can be improved, but I felt these can be filled in later, and in the meantime, I wanted to push this out to you guys. So check back often to see if I've made any new changes. (Doing so will also boost my analytics numbers. hahaha.)
Enjoy
Have a look around, and enjoy. And if you notice something that doesn't look right, please feel free to contact me and let me know.

I must admit I’m really liking this design, it’s very clear and each area well defined by blocks of colour. Great work as well.
@Luke: Thank you very much. I appreciate the comment.
