Mono Sucks

My blog entries have taken a back seat lately. Actually, more like standing room only obstructed view seats at wrigley. The main reason: I have mono. That's right: MONO. Wow is this a tiring virus to have. I highly recommend not getting it. I have been out of commission for the past 2 and a half weeks now, and all signs of getting better any time soon are pointing in the wrong direction.
Here is a typical day with mono:
- 8:00 AM - wake up in a full body sweat
- 8:30 AM - walk to the kitchen from my bedroom, and sit down and catch my breath
- 9:00 AM - get up from the couch, and make some oatmeal
- 9:30 AM - finish oatmeal and lay down and rest.
- 9:30 AM - 12:3o PM - watch TV. eat something for lunch (whatever I can choke down as I really have no appetite). This sounds like fun, but it really isn't. It was great for the first 2 or 3 days, but after 2 weeks, I feel like I'm going to go postal.
- 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Sleep
- 3:30 PM - 7:00 PM - try and watch more TV.
- 7:00 PM - eat something for dinner. usually just soup.
- 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM - watch TV with nap or two in between.
- 10:00 PM - try to sleep (keep reading to see why I have to try to fall asleep).
Another factor contributing to my misery is that I have a constant full body itch. Basically, my liver is producing some type of toxin that is released through my skin, causing every square inch of my body to itch. That may sound like a joke, but I assure you, it is not. Everything on my body itches. EVERYTHING. What that means, is that sleeping at night is a chore, as I have no choice but to think about the itching, and force myself not to scratch anything.
As they say, every cloud has a silver lining. In this case, the silver lining is that I've lost around 12 or 13 pounds in the past 2 weeks. Yikes.
Well... I'm gonna go now, as I'm exhausted, and need to rest... again.

Man, this sounds awful. I knew it was bad, but I didn’t think it would be so intense so long. I have to get off to class, but if you decide you’re up for the trip down here, I’d be happy to spend some time with you on Saturday. Otherwise, get better soon. The site’s still lookin’ good!
